Moonalice and Tea Leaf Green recently braved the frigid temperatures of the Midwest for a grand run of dates, ending festively on February 16th at Chicago's Park West. The gig is archived on iClips to watch whenever you like from the warmth of your computer. Check it out! Moonalice Live in Chicago
Moonalice will join Tea Leaf Green at San Francisco's fabled Fillmore Auditorium on Friday, February 29 for a special night of great music and goodwill in support of the Rex Foundation as part of the Rex Musical Caravan. One dollar of every ticket sold will go towards benefitting Rex and its admirable agenda.
In addition, Rex will offer limited tickets for a pre-concert reception which includes the music, some good eats, and a chance to hang with members of both bands. We encourage you to come out and join us in wedding good deeds and cool tunes. And please tell all your Bay Area friends about the event.
Moonalice with also join TLG at the Highline Ballroom in New York City on Saturday, April 19 for another stop on the Rex Caravan. Please join us there, as well, and spread the word!
Moonalice will be returning to the road just after the holidays for a brief jaunt to Alaska to jam with the Northern Lights, if they're feeling playful. Even if they don't show, we'll make it a great party.
In February, we'll be heading to the Midwest for a run of dates supporting our friends from Tea Leaf Green, ending up the month on Leap Day at San Francisco's venerable Fillmore. A portion of each ticket for that show will help benefit another venerable Bay Area institution, the Rex Foundation. We hope to do more gigs to help benefit Rex as the year unfolds.
After a break in March, we'll be back at it in April, playing more dates with TLG all over the map, as well as a run of our own in the Northeast.
Please stay tuned to our website calendar for updates on all these shows and more!
We're looking forward to getting together with all of you in 2008 in one place or another. Wherever that is, we'll definitely be there!
Head on over to our music page and check out a few live gigs we've recently played at the Inter-Media Arts Center in Hungtington, NY, the Canyon Club in Las Vegas, and at San Francisco's massive Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in Golden Gate Park.
They're yours to stream or download, as you like.
There will be more live shows to come, so check back regularly.
Moonalice is a Native American tribe that dates back to the beginning of time. According to Moonalice legend, the tribe descends from Piltdown Woman, or possibly from a couple of naked, snake-charmed gardeners who liked to hang around with friendly dinosaurs. In later times, the tribe evolved into two major clans. One was agricultural, the other nomadic. The farmers were known as hippies. They cultivated many things, but their specialty was a native American crop: hemp. Over the years, the hippies found many uses for hemp and built an advanced culture around it.
